Configuration
Having the capability to model terrain and other effects when deciding on a multilateration system greatly decreases the risk of requiring more sites, with the associated higher acquisition, installation and through-life cost.
Site Finding - Our sophisticated site finding tool DOGS (Digital Overlay Graphical Software) is used to identify candidate sites for deploying wide area systems
Signal Environment Modelling - Our accurate channel-modelling tool, Epsilon™, allows us to predict the signal multipath environment at receiver sites and determine their best position. This reduces the likelihood of costly site repositioning after deployment.
Terrain Modelling - Our terrain and coverage tool has the ability to:
- Observe and compare coverage at different altitudes – with and without terrain data present and including such effects as earth curvature and Fresnel zone
- Compare the coverage provided by a different number of sites
- Model the effects of equipment failure on overall system performance to determine system availability
- Calculate the system accuracy at different altitudes across definable regions
- Include the effect of interrogation rate, transponder power and antenna choice on accuracy.
